Shirley Feng

Speech-Language Therapist

Having emigrated from China to the United States at an early age, Shirley shares similar experiences of communication difficulties with the children that she serves. 

Being passionate about inclusion and neurodiversity, an avid traveler, and fluent in Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and conversational in Japanese, she feels determined to give back to the global community as a multilingual speech-language pathologist.

Shirley received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of California, San Diego and Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, East Bay. She is a certified member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the California Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Dispensers Board. She is also a recipient of ASHA’s 2022 Distinguished Early Career Professional (ECP) Certificate.

She specializes in bilingual diagnostic evaluations and therapy treatments with children ranging in ages from 1-11 years old. She works with a diverse client group with Autism, Down syndrome, cognitive impairments, developmental delays, learning disabilities, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency disorders, language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders.

Hillary Shih

Speech-Language Therapist

Hillary is a certified practicing speech therapist with a degree in Speech Science from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). With a passion for helping individuals across diverse demographics, Hillary has extensive experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. She has attended Talktools and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy workshops.  During her free time, she enjoys golf and practicing aerial yoga.

Janice Cho

Ellisa Yee Shu Ping is a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Therapist trained in the UK, holding a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy. With experience in diverse settings, including special schools, early intervention centers, and hospitals, Ellisa has developed expertise in supporting individuals with a wide range of needs. Her work with children includes addressing speech delays, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and feeding challenges. She is especially passionate about empowering nonspeaking children to communicate using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and tailoring interventions to each child’s specific needs through parent and teacher training.

Ellisa’s approach combines evidence-based techniques such as Gestalt Language Processing, DIR Floortime, and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing. She finds immense fulfillment in witnessing her clients achieve milestones, and remains committed to enhancing lives by fostering confidence and independence through communication.

Dhania Sorfina

Occupational Therapist

Dhania Sorfina is a dedicated and skilled pediatric occupational therapist with extensive experience in empowering children to overcome developmental challenges through tailored, evidence-based interventions. She specializes in sensory integration, self-regulation, and motor development, employing play-based techniques and Ayres Sensory Integration approaches to foster engagement and growth. Dhania has worked in diverse settings, including schools and therapy clinics, where she has successfully collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to create holistic and individualized treatment plans. Her commitment to parental involvement ensures that families are equipped to support their children’s progress, bridging therapy goals with home and educational environments.

Dhania’s professional development includes specialized certifications such as the Collaborative for Leadership in Ayres Sensory Integration (CLASI), Positive Behavior Training by Team Teach, the Interoception Curriculum, and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). She is currently pursuing the ADHD-CCSP certification and has also trained in DIR Floortime and Vision Efficiency Therapy. As an advocate for inclusive and adaptive learning environments, she has contributed to creating sensory-friendly spaces, teacher training programs, and innovative tools to support children in achieving their fullest potential. Dhania is a proud member of the Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA) and the Malaysian Allied Health Professionals Council (MAHPC).

Jie Yi P’ng

Occupational Therapist

Dr. Jie Yi P’ng received her PhD in Occupational Therapy from the National University of Malaysia.  She is a seasoned occupational therapist with over 15 years of experience specializing in pediatric care. She is passionate about supporting children with neurodevelopmental, mental health, and behavioral challenges, offering tailored interventions to help them thrive in their everyday lives. Jie Yi works closely with children providing comprehensive assessments and individual or group therapy. She is commited to empowering families by equipping caregivers with strategies to foster their child’s development at home.

In addition to direct therapy, Jie Yi has developed and implemented early intervention programs designed for children with autism and other developmental delays. She is a sought-after trainer and speaker, delivering workshops for parents, educators, and professionals on topics such as sensory integration, early intervention, and inclusive education. Jie Yi has also contributed to academic research in pediatric occupational therapy, including the development of a home-based intervention manual for young children with autism. Her dedication to enhancing the well-being of children and families is complemented by her warm and responsive approach, ensuring every child she works with feels supported and valued.

Khuldiah Iman

Clinical Psychologist

 

 

 

Iman is a Clinical Psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology from University Kabangsaan Malaysia. She has been trained at the UKM Psychology Clinic, Hospital Mesra Bukit Padang, and Pusat Genius Kurnia. Her clinical expertise includes conducting assessments and diagnostic testing for neurodevelopmental disorder such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Difficulties, and Intellectual Disabilities. She uses play therapy to support children with behavioral or emotional challenges. Iman believes in loving and accepting the strengths and limitations of each person. 

Syamil Sofiah

Clinical Psychologist

Sofiah attained her Master in Human Sciences (Clinical and Counselling Psychology) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Her clinical training in Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab (HRPZ-II) and Hospital Permai Johor Bahru has allowed her to work with cases across different developmental age spans and socioeconomic backgrounds. She has also worked in both private and government settings and has experience in managing cases including neurodevelopmental, mood and personality disorders. In view of her therapeutic approach, Sofiah applies an eclectic form of psychotherapy, to which she tailors to suit the needs of her clients and their treatment goals. Her special interest is in child and adolescent psychology, and is currently completing her Graduate Certification Program of Family Therapy. Sofiah strongly resonates with the saying “Worry ends when faith begins” and aims to build trust and a safe space for her clients. 

Janice Cho

Registered Dietitian & Co-Founder

Janice is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Science from California Polytechnic State University, and a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science from California State University in Long Beach. She is certified through the Commission on Dietetics Registration (USA), and a member of the Malaysian Dietitians Association.  

Her career began in her home state of California, working with high risk premature babies, kids and adults. After nearly 10 years of working in the hospital, Janice and Daniel, along with their newly adopted toddler, moved to New York City to work among immigrant families and communities. While in NYC, she started a new branch of The MomCo (MOPS), an international community of support, for mothers in the Bronx.

It was during these early years of motherhood that Janice realized the need for different ways to empower children with neurodivergence and those who have experienced trauma.  Her personal challenges as a parent lead her to pursue further training in responsive and trauma informed feeding practices and trust based parenting strategies. Janice is trained in Responsive Feeding Therapy, Division of Responsibility, Attachment and Trauma Focused Therapy, a member of  The Feeding Therapy Lab, and a certified facilitator of Empowered to Connect’s Cultivate Connection Parent Course.

After adding two more boys to the family, she and her family of 5 moved to Malaysia.  Janice and Daniel founded Fed to Flourish to serve families and empower them to Flourish.

Janice Cho

Daniel Cho, Co-Founder

Daniel received a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic University, and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Loyola Marymount University in California.  After working for 10 years in aerospace engineering, he had the opportunity to merge his leadership skills with his passion for meeting the needs of the community as the director of a non profit in NYC.After years of trying to push through marriage and parenting struggles, Daniel realized that a new approach was needed to build connection within the family. Through counseling, training courses, learning about neurodivergence and the effects of trauma, he was convinced that traditional parenting strategies don’t work for everyone. Building trust and connection within the family is a journey, and Daniel is passionate about helping other parents along that path.

Daniel is certified as a coach with CernySmith Assessment, trained in The Coach Model, and as a facilitator of Empowered to Connect’s Cultivate Connection Parenting Course which was developed based on the work of Dr. Karyn Purvis and her colleagues. His experience in a variety of disciplines equips him to support our team of therapists- encouraging them to grow in their strengths, and leading them toward our mission of seeing children and families flourish.
